Its mission is to provide resources and guidance to alliance members so their research can have a global impact on health policy and clinical guidelines and untap the full potential of personalized medicine.

Andrei Bezdedeanu

Advisor, Data Analytics and Science

Andrei is a seasoned technology leader with over 20 years of experience designing and building solutions to solve complex problems in Financial Services and Cybersecurity. Andrei has a Master’s in Computer Science from Tufts University and an accomplished record of building software platforms for research, analysis, and decision making. His experience includes serving as Head of Application Development at global asset management firms, Vice President of Engineering at a global leading edge cybersecurity technology company, member of Executive Leadership Teams and Board of Directors, speaker at national conferences and recognized technology thought leader.

Michael Fritz

Director, Institutional Development

Michael is establishing US operations for the Network Medicine Institute. This includes supporting high priority projects such as the COVID-19 Global Drug Repurposing Study. He was previously a venture investor in breakthrough Healthcare IT companies at Excel Venture Management. Before that he was a management consultant at the Parthenon Group (since acquired by Ernst and Young) where he worked with healthcare, technology, and private equity clients. He also founded TalentList.ai and has a degree in engineering and economics from Dartmouth College.

GOALS

Provide leverage for funding research, influencing global health policy, and updating clinical guidelines

Maintain a scientific committee composed of representatives from the Alliance's Universities and Institutes

Maintain an advisory group to develop and implement fundraising strategies for breakthrough research

Provide guidance about how to obtain funding as part of the alliance grant proposal process and how to prioritize research objectives to have a global impact on health policy and clinical guidelines

Strategy

Identify alliance funding contacts and resources (already in place and to be applied for)

Educate key constituencies around the world such as Governments, Ministries, and Foundations

Raise awareness and promote the alliance’s unique capabilities to attract funding and resources to high priority projects

Develop a series of white papers to help influence global health policy, clinical guidelines, and resource allocations set by key constituencies such as the EU, National Ministries, US Government, and other Foundations

Fundraising

The Institute will help alliance members prioritize funding sources and submit proposals. Potential funding sources include but not limited to:

› National Ministries of Health and Research

› United States National Institutes of Health

› European Union

› International Philanthropic Foundations

› United Nations: WHO & UNESCO

› European Innovative Medicines Initiative

Impact

The Institute and Alliance provide an open platform connecting the world’s preeminent medical researchers and helping them develop meaningful partnerships with public and private institutions.

Collaborative and well funded interdisciplinary research on a global scale holds great promise for global heath by untapping the full potential of Personalized Medicine.
